What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)
Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005
Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.
So, what are you listening to right now?

That's too bad because they have some pretty fine smooth jazz albums. Russ Freeman's guitar work and arrangements are fairly intricate for this genre. I also enjoy some of the saxophone players, including the insipid Kenny G who was on the first album and really playing.

Sorry gentlemen.
I'm always scared i can hurt or offend someone................
I realize that my last could lead to misunderstandings so i have to underline that with "Lets pull the stick back and gain altitude..........." i was not talkin about other forum members' choices.
I think you understand.
Thank you.

It's good considering the source material. Michael Cuscuna has worked on it along with other engineers (Malcolm Addey IIRC) who've been active in the same type of reissue program. There's the usual drop-outs, fluctuations in tape speed, crackles etc. Endearing. My system is only starter-Naim

When you look at the Getz Roost sessions you've really got to be thankful to these guys for bringing us music which, even if it's SQ suffers, is utterly memorable.
Buy it!
