What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)
Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005
Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.
So, what are you listening to right now?

Graeme - you may be on to something. My system is really singing this evening! Maybe it's the lunar eclipse...this could be a late night''
Well we all know what LP to spin round, maybe we will see the dark side of the moon tonight.
My copy of Holst's Planets suite, LPO conducted by Adrian Boult 1979 is dug out.
Playing a jazz artist fairly new to me:
Joe Henderson quintet at the lighthouse (brand new, 3 quid at Fopp Tottenham Court Rd yesterday). Good full bodied classic jazz, 1970.
Also dug out: Art Pepper 'Today' 1979
John Coltrane 'Jazz' 1961
David Sylvian 'Gone to Earth' 1986
CD's (borrowed from library) in the in tray
Jan Garbarek 'Visible World' ECM 1996 as mentioned on last nights BBC Radio 3 Profile of him.
Alan Barnes Quartet'Blessing in Disguise' 2006
Charles Lloyd, Zakir Hussain, Eric Harland ' Sangam 2006 ECM
Finally my new self installed Audio Technica 440mlA cartridge (new version shipped from USA less than 60 quid including postage, mentioned on American forums such as audio asylum) is coming on song after run in of over 60 hours.
