What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)
Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005
Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.
So, what are you listening to right now?

Soft rain tonight.
Changes in the weather are always the beginning of something and i feel the energy of it.

Thanks for the recommendation on this one, Cyrene. My copy arrived yesterday, and I stayed up until 2 AM listening. Marvelous music, very nicely mastered so as to take nothing away from what was there on the source. I love it.
Best regards,
Carl

hatology has some gems, around, and sometimes you can find them very cheap. I love their range from wild Swiss/German experimental stuff to the likes of Copland, etc.
Good label, and cannot be accused to be "audiophile", either.
cheers

Glad you're pleased. Those bass-less Verve/Mercury sides with Nat Cole and Buddy Rich are pretty top notch too if you don't already have them. Again, not entirely 'scratch' free but damn good given the year of production.
All the best.
