What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

Saturday morning:

BIBER / The Rosary Sonatas / harmonia mundi

'The 15 sacred mysteries (2CDs) relate to key moments in the lives of the Virgin Mary and Christ. Introduced by St Dominic in the thirten century, Rosary devotion with the assistance of beads to keep track of the number of prayers, is still widely practiced.'

I find this music for two instruments more straight forward and void of 'Schmaltz' that often creeps intp Biber's music.

Yes, Kuma.

I am very familiar with that concept since I majored in Photography in college. My ego is boundless too.

Merry Christmas

This is Sakamoto's advertising jingle and TV theme work between '77 and '97.
Historical interest only as many of them are pretty mediocre.

It pleases me to see when somebody shares my admiration for Hille Perl's musical way. Isn't that beautiful music, Haim ?

Stefan,

A friend of my wife came and stayed with us for Christmas. She used to play the viola for many years, and I introduced Hille Perl to her last night. She loved it.

Merry Christmas,
