What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)
Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005
Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.
So, what are you listening to right now?

For the drumming? Is it intrumental? What's it sound like?

naimshake,
it's a drum and bass driven album - lots of nice rhythms/grooves. Garbarek and Stanko are quite awesome too and bounce some really beautiful melodies off each other.

I always felt it has quite an urbane quality to it but a bit ambivilant in it's quest;--- not so much a lack of passion or sterility, but a cleanliness that has an attraction all of it's own. Maybe the directness and 'rock' influenced drumming adds a bit of an everyday feel to the music.
When you look at the main protagonists involved, it all sounds very different from what they're normally doing.

One of the CD's that I'd accidentily bought twice. Two possible reasons:
1. I just didnt't remember what it was like
2. The lineup is so interesting that I just MUST have it.
Who cares... It's a real ear-washer !
cheers
