What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

Even through my foggy, cold ridden head, this is the real deal from Neil Young - the mood and sense of homecoming event is captured perfectly on the eve of Harvest being launched. As you may have gathered, I highly recommend this one!

The Third Ending (Tasmanian prog band). Think of Dream Theater mixed with Enchant and a soupçon of Spocks Beard.

It is my first Mitzi. Did you know that she grew up in Chicago and that she was a Professor of Harpsichord at the Hochschule der Kunster in Berlin? (I am talking 1994).

A long-forgotten debut featuring a smattering of bona fide pop-soul classics, served with a generous helping of steaming clunkers.

Mrs JWM and I listened to it on Wednesday night, and we have to concur with Peter - this is extraordinarily good. A real insight into prime period Shakey in the raw.

Highly recommended.
