What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

Often wondered about this album without actually buying a copy or hearing it - how do you rate it? Thanks.

Peter,

I am a big fan of Mr Knopfler. In my view he can do no wrong. Of his solo work I find myself reaching for this album more than others. I would rate it 4 out of 5 stars. The production is brilliant. If you like Mark Knoplfler I would highly recommend it. Let me know what you think of it if you decide to get it.

Regards,

Larry

Thanks Larry - I'll definitely add this to my list. Terribly out of fashion but I loved (still do) alot of Dire Straits stuff but only got as far as music from Cal and Local Hero; plus more recently Sailing to Philadelphia which I really love. There seem to be loads more which I've not dappled with so, Shangri-La it is then!

Night all,

Peter

Munch,

I think I am O.K.. I gave some friend at work music of Bach and Handel and he decided to lend me some of his Black Sabbath...

Hope you were keeping your hands on the steering wheel and not playing air guitar, shaking head violently or screaming at top of the voice (mind you they say that works for stress).

Is a visit to the Doctor required now for a hearing check up?

Not played this one for years. It always sounded pretty flat on my previous systems, but sounds really good on Naim Smile

Yup, I played it twice today, its a grower and the lyrics are superb, particularly the track about his dead young bride.

My young bride,
why aren't you moving at all,
helps to make the day seem shorter..
helps to make the day seem shorter..

I do love a cheerful record..............helps the day seem shorter Winker
