What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

A little more, Stefan, though I still much prefer his Ana and Anthem.

Bob James: Three
Totally dire.
It will end up in a trash bin.

A great cover photo.

Hopelessly outdated '70s music, but Meat Loafs vocal performance takes some beating. Funny sound, very technicolor.

The hum of Air Conditioners and Disks whirring away as I restore a failed SAN/EVA device...

"Modern Times" Bob Dylan. Haven't played it for a while. A real boogiefest!

Indeed it is, Cyrene... I like Muthspiel more than Blade, but this come-together (which had been planned for long, and finally was possible) is a good example for the term "synergy". Both bring equal musical "capital" to the table, and yet it is more than just the sum of both. Duet recordings can do these things, and here it worked out.

Japanese vinyl remastered reissue of 1970 album.

Sounds brilliant.

bishopla

Have you been able to hear a Classic Records version of III or compare another Classic production against the Japanese remaster?

I have III from Classic and it sounds great & I see Diverse VInyl are advertising a string of Jap remaster releases in the coming months. So I'm kinda curious! Winker
