What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)
Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005
Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.
So, what are you listening to right now?

Ryan Adams - 29
Extraordinarily beautiful album. How someone so young can do this is beyond me. Genius.

Not going to wend it's way into the "great" album thread however "running to stand still" is a wonderful track.

All this talk of Van Morrison in Rotf's post in the great albums thread had me take down Into th Music lp - bought in March '89 and boy was the vinyl thin in those days! Cheap vinyl (£4.25!)couldn't keep Van down when he and the band were in such cracking form. It's great.

Just re-decorated, and am having a bit of a prune whilst putting everything back.
Can't remember if/when I listened to this, which I seem to have bought when it came out, so gave it a spin...
All I'm saying is that I didn't get all the way through ... (Don't know which bit is worse, Sam Brown's nerve-shattering voice, Gilson Lavis' predictable offbeat drumming, 'guest' Jamiroquai, or little Julian himself...)
It's going to Room 101.

A good friend of mine once completely floored me by giving me a Jools cd for Christmas. I just didn't have the heart to say anything - despite them being a very good friend who should have known better! Mine didn't make it past the first couple of tracks either...
