What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

Ohhhhh yes Steve!
Good evening!
I'm making some revival here testing the new X2+PS.
As the fellow member from Arabia i'm close to tears as i feel the sound coming so fine and natural albeit using my friend's 90.
Following your post i think i'll spin Donald later.

Man, this Lars Danielsson gives me some headaches with his variety... On "Libera Me" you can't almost hear him in all that synthy sauce... "Live at Salzau" is one of my top-5 issues of 2006, as a sideman (Wakenius, Haffner, Landgren, Tolstoy, ...) he is sometimes good, sometimes less good.

This latest, just out for a week in Germany, is again something special. More so, when he plays the cello than when he plays double bass. Leszek Mozdzer (whom I also like from his own "Piano" CD) is more than a con-genious partner.

Great disc.

Stefan,

I had this disc on my order with JPC. For some reason they decided to ship my order a day before Pasodoble was released, so it was left behind alone.

Just listened to three sides of Van Morrison's Hymns to the Silence on vinyl. The record was bought when the album was first released and my goodness they must have anticipated an oil crisis - I'd forgotten how thin vinyl got back in the bad old days when the record labels were trying to kill it off!

Night all,

Isn't it amazing a country can see boobs and still continue to function. This forum would probably be closed down on the other side.
