What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

Just got a copy of George Harrison All things Must Pass, remastered 2001 CD. It does not sound 30 years old, and where did I ever leave the original vinyl version I bought when it came out?

Stefan,

I had this disc on my order with JPC. For some reason they decided to ship my order a day before Pasodoble was released, so it was left behind alone.

Haim

They needed the disc to send to me....

No, look forward to it. Not EXACTLY your style, but you'll appreciate it, lo stesso...

cheers

Stefan,

These days I am not sure what my style is.

I am happy that you are enjoying my missing disc...

Just received today from Diverse Vinyl - Janos Starker - Suites for Unaccompanied Cello Complete. It's a three lp set by Speakers Corner on 180g vinyl and the sound is very very good.

What's this like in respect to re-mastering quality and disc 2's content?

Sorry, can't really answer this tonight as I'm listening to it through my imac & headphones while I 'work'. Last time I heard it on the stereo it sounded fine BUT so far I've only heard disc one (original album). I'm determined to sit up working until disc 2 is done (don't quote me though!). Hope it's good as there are 14 tracks, only 2 of which are re-worked titles from disc one.
