What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

Sloop,

Tell me more about this. An Oscar disc I have neither got nor seen before.

Got your later selections with Grappelli
and both volumes of the Burrell / Ellington tributes albums on vinyl. Fine stuff.

Regards

Nic

Currently Meddle by the Floyd, cannot be arsed to post picture!

Nicnaim / Sloop

It has been re-issued by Speakers Corner as shown on this US Site...

... but there must be other sources for Speakers Corner Vinyl.

I have it and it is excellent

some old Garbarek stuff, that's availbale for (comparably) small money, currently.

Paths, Prints (with Frisell, Weber, Christenson)
Wayfarer (with Frisell, Weber, DiPasqua)
Eventyr (with Abercrombie, Vasconcelos)

Mixed emotions...

cheers
Stefan

I have the gold Mastersound disc and the next door neighbours dog barks when I put it on. If there was ever an album that should get a proper remaster then this one is it.

Bruckner 4 from Barenboim and the BPO. I must confess to having found this cycle somewhat lukewarm thus far, but this was really quite special.

My new vinyl pressing of The Beatles Love album had its premiere this evening (in my home, that is!), and mighty fine it sounded too!
