What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

Cyrene,
thanks for correcting me with the release dates...

The Tord Gustavsen concert was the second best I've ever heard them playing ! (Out of a total of two, though). The other one was in an almost intimate club with a tiny stage, and I was sitting almost with them instead of them playing "there" and me listenig "here". Especially for the very silent moments, this makes a huge difference. Namely, the drummer, that knows how to create magic just with a brush and maybe his fingers needs to be seen and heard live to believe.

Now, having said this, I still think it was in the top quadrant of the concerts I have been to, lately.

cheers

Graham, how good is it? would you say its a must have.
Regards munch

Not sure it's a "must have" but once the volume it turned up it is quite captivating. If you like jazz percussion then I sure you'll like this.

I was lucky enough to be given it at the enf of a Naim factory tour - so a double whammy Smile
