What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

It's not helping having bootlegged Eek the library copy that skipped and jumped about.
I was getting a bit more into it when it all went pearshaped.

I did. Was the same price as the CD only! The pack wasn't cellophane wrapped so is a tad battered but the music is intact! Is the DVD good too? It's an extraordinary album. Thanks again.

I've had a bit of a shock this evening. Made contact with a long-lost school friend who I haven't seen for 25 years, to find he is the power behind this great band from California (consisting of a Brit and two Swedes!):

Hardslug

Claims to sound like "The Ruts and The Pistols meet Turbonegro".

But to me, sounds like good quality rock with a bit of a punk frisant.

This is the album. I'll give it a go after pay day! (C'mon I've just had an 82 service to pay for...!)

really 1977 to 1981 before his drug habit got the better of him.

Great stuff from a wonderful producer.

I heard the Dolly Parton song, "Nine to Five," yesterday, where a typewriter is recorded in the percussion...

Bishopla: is that the new remaster (on Shout) of the ELP s/t? How is the mastering?

Jewel: Faith (Atlantic 1998)

Another disc thats been gathering dust since its purchase but this system seems to breathe a new life and understanding into the music. Beautiful. And the systems behaving this morning, is this some black magic?

Yes, The Shout remaster is great. I am going to compare to my other versions (MFSL and Japan) as I am a big ELP fan. The price is right.
