What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

God I had almost forgotten Terje's existance. Had the pleasure of seeing him in the late 70's. Broke 2 strings on his guitar and just kept playing. He was astonishing that night.

Heres another album I have not played for a while, but one which doesn't seem to have dated as well as I thought it might.. a little bit mixed up style wise and musically with some good ideas that don't quite seem to pull off

The Naim True Stereo Sampler. Great sound quality though not all the music would be my natural choice to play, so good for expanding the horizons!

Agree totally about the MFSL Robin Trower - a great version of a great album.

I used to worry with this disc that there was a slight veil between me and the players, today it seems to be lifted.. Perfect in the sunlight

Lastnight a vinyl session....
Pretenders - The Singles
Marshall & Hain - Free Ride
Elvis Presley - Welcome To My World
Surprised how good the Marshall/Hain is, has anyone have any info as to what other albums they recorded and are they still going?

Forced myself off the sofa to change it! Now Kenny Wayne Shepherd "10 Days Out: Blues from the Backroads". A truly excellent collaborative album.

previously I had just finished listening too

Which has the oddest recorded kick drum ever, it seems to be lifted and shifted in the mix, its odd it works in the way it drives some of the songs along but its very flat in tone and becomes distracting.
