What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)
Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005
Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.
So, what are you listening to right now?

I really enjoyed this album from 1975 yesterday. Memories of my youth and all that.

Hi Gianluigi
I only have the readily available Bark Psychosis stuff - namely, their first album Hex, and a collection of early singles, Independency. Both are great, though neither is quite as experimental as Dustsucker. Hex is very ambient in places, especially on the closing track, "Pendulum Man". The early singles on Independency sound more "Indie", although BP stood out from the crowd even then. Independency also includes their post-rock classic "Scum" - 20 minutes long, first 5 minutes is a creepy intro, last 10 minutes a Talk Talk-like outro. Between Hex and Dustsucker Graham recorded some drum & bass inspired material under the name Boymerang, but I haven't heard that. Hope that helps!

Thanks Gian ,i think i will get a copy. They are one band i have wanted to see live for years but never have.Hows the new Naim have you got it yet?
Regards munch
You're welcome Munch!
But i think that "Ten" still remains THE Pearl Jam album.
All those that followed are good but don't have imho the power of the first.
The new player is going fantastic (storms aside).
If i was going out rarely before i'm not moving from here at all now.
To all the people that ask me why i say i have a new love affair!

Enjoyn' the "Insults-with-artistic-merit thread?".
I must keep 2 or 3 of them for hard times!

I'm listening to Jimi Hendrix, Axis Bold as Love lp. Fantastic! 39 years after it came out, !!!!! !!!!! What can you say? Incredible!
I'm looking forward to hearing new all over again after I slot my new 82 or 202 into the system.
Have I ever mentioned how great it is to have 135s in the system and be able to play the system loud without strain?? (A rhetorical question, as I've posted this observation many many times in the past, heh heh...!)
This is what Rock and Roll is supposed to sound like...

"This Is Soul" CD version of a must-have album from my schooldays. Classic Atlantic soul from the 60's. Brilliant.
