What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

Good to have you back, Stefan.

Did you check on Gian or did he go missing?

A new arrival: a beautiful 1987 recording. John Surman is playing the Bass Clarinet, Recorders, Soprano & Baritone Saxophones and Synthesizer.

I tried to get the disc from Amazon US but they only wanted $58 for it...

Inspired to pick this up cheap on CD during a recent splurge after seeing Joe Jackson live last week. My brother pinched my vinyl copy years ago, but I had forgotten how good an album this is not a bum track on it. Highly recommended.

H47 What do think on the sound quality on your new MFSL version fo "Fragile"?
Is it far better than the remastered version?

My fourth Tharaud (I have him also playing Schubert, Chopin and Couperin), all of them excellent.
