What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)
Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005
Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.
So, what are you listening to right now?

sonofcolin,
re: Ursula 1000. The party must have been fun.
A friend recommended this disk to me saying I would like the 'Slinky'.
It's a tongue and cheek fun.

Somewhat overlooked artist from the Motown label.
A good romantic funk. Excellent rhythm section as always.

Vivaldi - Concerti per Fagotto e Oboe. This series is really an excellent undertaking and there is some fabulous music to discover and enjoy.

Arcade Fire - Funeral. Finally took the plunge and bought this, played it loads despite the vocals on the first track sounding like they have been recorded through a plastic coffee cup!
Seem to have lost the ability to attach album covers. Have I been censored for posting the Slits - Cut (topless shots of Ari and co covered in mud) or is there a more simple technical answer?

Adrian,
Played this great disc tonight in the car. I could not find 'Gleda' in the US and I ended up ordering it from Germany. Do you have their first album: 'Mi Ritorni in Mente'? I am planning on getting it.

Haim

Haim - I do not have their other CD but will look out for it.
Here is another Stefano Bollani CD that I really like - this is on the Venus Records label and is a Japanese release. Worth searching out.
Cheers
