What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

Rasher, if you tolerate bootlegs, this is a must listen/have in my opinion, to stream or download:

Also a "forty years ago today" album and arguably as good and influential as Sgt Pepper's

Emerson's First Piano Concerto - wonderful.

Blind purchase (Paul Mc Candless was the teaser), and not too bad. Brasil'ish guitar "jazz", with occasional taste of world.

Yes Stefan,

The music is great and I thought that this photograph was much better than the ECM cover.

It never stops to amaze me. So many piano lovers on the forum, and hardly anybody posts anything of this brilliant player.

Don't post, but listen all the time, especially to the Riverside sessions.

Me too but I prefer listening to his solo cuts from the various Keepnews sessions. However, the Columbis solo recordings don't do that much for me. You can't say that he was going off the boil though --- Monk fans will have you killed for that!

On vinyl too, with demonstration disc. I actually prefer Demonstration. Still got to be one of the most amazing indie/alternative records of all time imho. Thankfully got tickets to see her in Manchester next month.
