What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

I love this recording and every time I upgrade I seem to discover something new, even if you have to cope with Starker's deep breathing, groaning and squeaky chair. Wonderful music, great performance.

Tom Fogerty & the Blue Velvets
Golliwogs
Creedence Clearwater Revival
Bayou Country
Green River
Willy and the Poorboys
Cosmo's Factory
Pendulum
and I think I'll give Mardi Gras a miss as it isn't up to the standard of the other stuff.

Withered and Died. The end of the rainbow.
Amazing songs really. If there was an "under recognised" thread running he'd probably have to top it.

and so ends today's listening.

Still one of my favorite Chick Corea albums, especially side two.
Sometimes I like to listen neosoul and this one is my favorite. They have wonderful voices and their songs are full of hope and love. And, they are friends of mine! Big Grin

A departure from his normal stuff. However, you still know it is JMJ. Excellent and enjoyable stuff - perfect for a sunny Sydney day.

A powerful voice and uplifting.
Nothing beats the gospel music.

Just out of interest where do you guys get the album images from? Do you photograph the album/CD covers or do you download them from a database somewhere?

Thanks,
Graham.

Go to something like Amazon.com or .co.uk or http://www.jpc.de and search for the CD you want. Double click on the album cover. Right click and go to properties. This will give you the link to the address of the photo. Copy the link into image URL, press ok and then post.

Where do you buy your Naim from in Lightwater? I grew up in Frimley/Camberley.

Cheers

I sounds so obvious now you've said that Smile

I've used both Audio-T in Reading and PJ HiFi in Guildford. Both have been very helpful.

I wish I was over there in the sun right now rather than sitting here looking at the rain.

Tam, a great loss, although she stopped singing some time ago.

But that's not a recording that I have. Nor, given that I have Furtwaengler and C Kleiber in Tristan, one that I'm likely to buy.

But I have her on Solti's Ring on LP and CD.
