What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

The last time I heard from you was a couple of weeks before the French Revolution...

Are the Italian young actresses showing up at work keeping you so busy, or is it the lady with the heavy Mac system...?

Ciao Haim!
Hope you're good and that the new camera is giving you good satisfaction!
I was busy with the guillotine!
Did you get this album?
Beautiful.

Charity shop vinyl bargain

IanG, it's great to pick up stuff like this. I was at the charity shop also today and have picked up the following:-

DG LP - F. Chopin - Various with Dang Thai Son
EMI DMM - Beethoven - Piano Sonatas with C. Eschenbach

both excellent recordings

Also, Sleeping Beauty on Decca with E. Ansermet and the orchestre de la suisse romande

and Brandenburg concerts with Karl Richter

Isn't cheap vinyl a delight Smile

Regards
Mark

Same principle: Play the flute(s) in a very reverberating ambience (a New Mexico canyon in the first a Vencice church in the other example). Should go into the "chill-out" thread, I guess...

Well Stefan,

I guess Newton is a very good idea.

I will take it to play it in the car. I am on my way to build some sweat at the wetlands.

One of the best live albums ever made, worth getting even if you have all the other studio albums - IMHO of course.

Edit after Side 1: Drop the IMHO - if don't love this you have no soul Smile
