What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

I think her work as Mouse was better, but she is remarkably consistent

Yes, hello Diccus62, it's me.

I adore Martha Tilston. Her voice is so pure IMO.

I've seen her a couple of times and eagerly await the next.

Needless to say I have both albums and like them equally.

Shame there're not available on vinyl.

During last years gig in Milton Keynes she stood about 4' away from the front row and sang 'Silver Dagger' without a microphone. It bought a lump to my throat and I don't believe I was the only one.

You won't regret buying 'Of Milkmaids & Architects' or 'Bimbling' I'm sure.

Regards

George.

Have just migrated Clash singles box set to my iPod and so giving "Cost of Living" EP a spin on the main system.

Next up Amy Winehouse and then probably Peter Tosh, Wanted Dread or Alive.

Earlier today, Bruno Cocset playing Barrière got me through a pretty tricky piece of stochastic modeling. Got to love the old iPod for blocking out all the office chatter.

Lucky man, you is...
If you have to make heavy use of a phone in an environment like that, it's a different story, though...

Hi Diccus

Thanks - I've just downloaded it and will give it a listen - her regular CDs are excellent - must try and get Mouse Tales too.

Might have done! I saw him play with Dave Binney a few years ago and that got me hooked. Mind you he was playing some pretty far-out Fender Rhodes that night.. Cool
The only spoiling that excellent gig was the girls sat nearby discussing Chet Baker (actually it wasn't a discussion as such, one girl was doing all the talking as in I'll tell everyone around me how much I know about Chet... Red Face )

Huw,

Do you do stochastics only or do you use Bollinger Bands too?
