What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)
Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005
Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.
So, what are you listening to right now?

This was lurking in my olde vinyl collection so I decided to give it a spin - I wonder why I bought it. There are some parts that are interesting.

More music while I work - another from the old vinyl store cupboard that begs the question did I really buy this - it's not great, not even good, but not awful either

This one sounds better than the last two bits of vinyl I've spun (ATV and the Lurkers) - I don't think Sham 69 were sincere, but it sounds quite good.

Yes - I should have thought of that.
This record sounds even better
I know it's just opinion but hearing Sham 69, Lurkers, ATV and this lot in close succession - I think the Beatles were better than the other three.

'Save Some' - Surely one of the best 'demo' tracks around on this masterpiece of an album.

Sheryl Crow - Sheryl Crow
munch I have 4 vinyl albums by The Enid:-
Aerie Faerie Nonsense
Touch Me I enjoy these on the rare occasions I play them.
An Alternative History Vol 1 & 2 of a series of 3 In peppermint green and ultra pink vinyl the 3 rd one in the series is bright yellow.I have not played them much as I bought them with a speculative eye. Live tracks I seem to recall. I'll dig them out and see how they have fared over time.
These later 2 are part of 2 or 3 sets of "fan only" releases that the group have put out over the years.
I need to get at some point their 1st album In the Region of Summer Stars and Six Pieces. I lost track of them after that.
I saw Enid circa 1979 at Finsbury Park (Astoria?). A great show which finished with them and the roadies breaking down the set and gradually switching everything off. No chance of an other encore that way.
