What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

New disk from this imaginative multi-influence grouping (which I like). If you liked their original Laughter without Tears you'll probably like this.

I enjoy Corelli pieces

The 6 Vilin Sonatas on Naxos are quute enjoyable, too.

If all fails, I refer to my "Complete Works" 10 CD set (Brilliant) which I haven't played fully, yet.

Corelli for me excels in his chamber creations.

Cheers
Stefan

Just like I said before, Stefan, you have everything...

The Concerti Grossi op.6 and the Sonatas op. 1, 3 & 5 make 6 discs. What is on the other four?

Regards,

Haim

I got the 10 CD (Brilliant) set and 2 CDs on Naxos.

With the Naxos discs, the Sonatas 7 - 12 are quite recent and very enjoyable to listen to. Have not listened to the Sonatas 1 - 6 disc yet.

Not as good, but the brilliant CDs are worthwhile purchases at the price IMO. Likewise, I have only listened to CD 1 so far.

My CD purchases are on hold until I get through a huge backlog ...

Cheers
Mark

Hi Gianluigi

I have the first Editors cd which is excellent, and think the second 'An End Has a Start' is a bit of a grower !
