What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

Gian my friend,

I hope you are floating in good order, just like the proud Italian navy...

If you have a chance, listen to this music. You really get a sense of a ship breaking up while going down, releasing sounds, debris and air bubbles.
Beautiful music.

Regards,

Haim

After having heard Hamelin a couple of times on the radio, this is the first CD I have bought of him. No regrets, so far.

(confirmed: Hamelin is worth the hassle that some people make around him...)

Stefan,

Did you hear him by any chance on the radio doing Godowsky's studies of Chopin's Etudes? If you like his playing, this is one of his best discs (as well as Iberia by Albeniz).
