What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

Jeff,

Very good album. Really like this band. Good to hear they will be soon working on a new album. May have to put them on next.

Agreed, great stuff.

There is also a Chris Walla (bass-DC4C, produced Decemberists "Crane Wife") album on the horizon, he has some great mp3s at his site.

Also, check out all the artists at Barsuk Records.

Thanks for the suggestions. Will definitely check them out. Decemberists are also a band I really like. I only have The Crane Wife and Picaresque, but would like to get the rest of their catalog.

Steve,

I still think that his best work has been done in the first three releases.

A funky, jazzy Amigos still has a soft spot for me as the Europa is an excellent piece.

The Inner Secrets is somewhat lackluster and not the strong work by him altho, it contains the hit 'Stormy'.

I keep it around just to listen to 'Love Is a Lady/ Holiday'.

Nice to hear Black Francis back again. One of my favourite artists in any of his guises.
