What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

Excellent choice Mark. I'm a big fan of EBTG and Tracey Thorn.

Has been some old Pablo cuts of OP and NHOP from Montreux in the 70s.

Moved on to Floratone which is growing, even if my eyes never seem to be open by the end of it.

Looks like you have sorted it out to post pics. Try in photoshop or other to cut out the image to size and crop without any white space in between the cover. This way it's bang on size and a smaller size file to paste without space between text.
Hope this makes sense.

The white border appears if you select the large image, it shouldn't be necessary. The medium sized one is this size........

Courtesy of another forum an excellent collection called This Is Folk that has Robert Wyatt, Bert Jansch and Maddy Prior on it among others.

And that wonderful album that inspired the Fab Four - yes The Rutles by Neil Innes et al - Innes is surely an underrated genius: Blue Suede Schubert.

No - but that is what prompted the session. Think I have enough NHOP to not bother about that one. May change my mind if I see it somewhere cheap.

Closing out the evening with the McGarrigle Sisters debut album - lovely stuff, even if the voices are a little odd. Much better than anything from Rufus and Martha (imho)

Finishing MY evening with Basia Bulat. Finally got hooked. Took me some spins, though...

Good job, ROTF Winker

Hi Stefan

I think she is superb - one of the best albums of the year: I never go too long without giving it a spin.
