What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

do you like it?

It's fabulous, although the Podger/Pinnock version is also highly recommendable.

Great disc and totally underrated.

Yes indeed. Any Ry fans that haven't got this, should give it a spin.

Steve

This has been 1 of 3 discs I had of Ry and thought it was his worst, until a gave it a spin on my Naim-set.

I have 12 of Ry's at present...

Huw, how can you have the Hille Perl, already ? I have it on order, but JPC won't release it, until its official release date (21. 9.). But more importantly:

HOW IS IT ?

cheers

Just picked it up this afternoon from Müller - sounds good, still only on track 1. Has been ripped to iPod as off to Züri in the morning.

Only when I got the picture from Amazon did I see that official release was 21.9

Update: I am loving it, but you need to listen with no distractions as it is quite introspective

I'm SO curious to hear it. Have the Jordi Savall "view" of Marais (which is always special), and would love to know how one of my heroes gets along with it...
