What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

Thanks for the you tube link. Brilliant. Always loved Carlos Santana's guitar tone.

Did he know he was a bluesman?

Manu Katché - Playground, very well played dinner party music that doesn't engage the listener at all. Quite disappointed.

Joe Lovano & Hank Jones - Kids. Sax and piano, altogether everything that Playground is not. Engaging and evidence of two players just stretching out and enjoying themselves.

The National - Boxer, not quite as strong as Alligator but v. good nevertheless.

Bruce Springsteen - Seeger sessions live in Dublin. Great to have on whilst preparing dinner. I believe I am the Pub Singer!

"Civilians"

with continued listens, I am convinced this will be my personal "best of" 2007 .... I really thought Spoons "Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga" was going to take that honor .... still in my personal top 5
