What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)
Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005
Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.
So, what are you listening to right now?

Hello Haim, I await my own copy of this, should get it by early next week : )
How enjoyable do you find the musik on this album?
I've always loved the sound of a well played recorder!
However, my soprono/descant is out of the draw it's been in for the last 5 years and I'm currently amusing my cat with my very elementary performance ; )
kind regards ~

Dear Nain-nymph!
Wonderful!
I have about 50 of the Quartetes, mostly from the Hungarian "Tatrai Quartet," issued on Hungaraton! Also perhaps 25 from the old Pro Arte Quartet, and one or two from otheres!
It is one of the goldmines of great music, which would take a lifetime to know well!
I notice you listening to Bliss's "Things To Come" thye other day.
You have the most adventurous taste! It is my ambition to hear more of the music of Bliss one day when the money allows for it!
I listened to the Saint Matthew Passion erlier, from Leonhardt! I had intended to listen to it over the weekend, but...
Of course it will come out again over the weekend in any case!
ATB from George

Golly George!
You're becoming as nocturnal as me! : )
I'm on leave from work this week and next, so my old collection of classical cd's have been dusted off. Suprises me what I've found hiding away and unplayed for over a decade, the early 90's were a baroque time warp for me but mainly Mozart ( and tightly stringed corsets : ) and all kinds of oddities influenced by CD Magazine.
The Bliss 'Things to Come' is a lend from a friend... we are always sharing our music-finds and his taste and knowledge is quite good. He got me into Sofia Gubaidulina!
I do recommend that particular Bliss double cd, so much on those disc's for one sitting but I've got time to get it out again! he! he! : ) fantastical reproduction Quality and so Very entertaining!
Enjoy the Saint Matthew Passion George!
Time for bed me thinks ~
