What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)
Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005
Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.
So, what are you listening to right now?

I have heard some good things about this album from some US friends. Is it the big leap forward that it supposed to be from their other earlier 3 discs (which I didn't like that much)?
I don't know their previous albums and 7".
I own Bronnt Industries Kapital's "Virtute et industria" album which is a very good job at my ears.
This album "The western lands" is some of the best thing i've listened to lately.
Very open it flies high on minimal but charming melodies.
You can get some clips from this album on Youtube or the link i wrote above.
I think i'll buy it soon (this copy belongs to my friend).

A little big gear there.
Is it a hobby you have or do you follow artists as a job?

LOL It was a hobby (addiction) until the fall of 2002 when I had some serious health problems. Carting that much gear was a chore at times but the artists and/or their management were terrific to asssociate with.
I was a devoted follower of Jerry Joseph and was fortunate to tape him one night when his last "song" was a twenty minute selection of JJ songs interwoven with a medley of Chris's songs from Rocket House (JJ had toured Europe that spring as Chris's opener and always stayed on stage for Chris's first number). I sent a copy of that to Chris's management along with the recording of Chris's show and with Jerry's permission the last 8 or so minutes was posted as audio background on Chris's website.
Those were some very fun years with lots of stories and some great archived music momentos.
Best regards
Jeff A
ps: Just back from purchasing some Sonus Faber Concertinos - sounding pretty nice.
