What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)
Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005
Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.
So, what are you listening to right now?

Last night it was Ricki Lee Jones again on the TT, Pirates album. Great bass player and great syncopated rhythums, unique to her.

Ciao Gianluigi,
Yes, I have just tried succesfully this time and I am not sure the 2 CDs are what I am looking for as there is insufficient information.
I have, however, found the exact pieces on a Naxos recording (Colongne Chamber Orchestra - Helmut Muller-Bruhl. It's not bad but does not resonate with me like my former Archiv vinyl version but it will grow on me no doubt. The programme notes are better than on some Naxos recordings.
There seems to be a lot of goodies on that site of yours and I shall enjoy exploring it - many thanks for your help.
Regards,
Erik

Stefan - this has been my favourite Lloyd work for some time. A very mellow and tuneful outing.
