What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)
Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005
Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.
So, what are you listening to right now?

Prefab Sprout: Steve McQueen
Just re-issued:
A lot of it I can leave, but some of the tracks I can feel getting under my skin as I listen to them.

Faulkner: Hand Built By Robots
Bought this after reading a review in a free paper. A bit of a feelgood CD. Lots of acoustic guitar.

I found I had this my vinyl collection - played one side of it and wonder why I ever bought it - it's dreadful - not recommended, at least the Lurkers had a sense of humour.

Another not particular great album that I bought in my youth (well I couldn't have been that young as it was released in 77/8).
Perhaps my taste has improved/changed (delete as appropriate).

Hi Jim
I got that CD (Christine Collister) the other day and it is excellent IMO - full of atmosphere.
What's your opinion

Hi Munch
Is that Lola vs The Powerman on the Moneygoround Part I? If so then it is a superb album, I bought it when it first came out, mine has been played so much that it's showing its age. What a wonderful group the Kinks were.
A great, great record.

Hi ROTF
I think it's a fantastic cd. Her vocals are second to none. As you say her voice is very atmospheric and best of all most of her vinyl/cds sound excellent. I have been a fan for a very long time and she always brings out quality music. Check out her back catalogue you won't be dissapointed.
