What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)
Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005
Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.
So, what are you listening to right now?

How do find the recording? I think her songs are are wonderful.
Hi ROTF!
I have to say that i did not make myself any kind of idea before getting the record.
I got it, that's all.
After some spins i must say that the record let its fragrance little by little and yes, it is a good record.
An honest record.
Not the classic country female record that charms you the first time and that evaporate like the alcohol in a cheap perfume leaving nothing.
I like her voice very much and i think i'll try to get her previous releases.
A nice surprise to me.

Hi Gianluigi
I don't think it as well record as her earlier albums sounds as if it was mixed for the car stereo.
You could try Come On Come On which is a sensational album.
AS I'm sure you know I really like MCC and have bought every album of hers as it became available.

Btw i'm sorry.
I forgot to thank you for underlining the quality of her records during the months.

I think you mean that the general equalization of the record is a bit bright and i do agree.
Btw it doesn't hit my ears.
For what i know Rounder Records did always made a good job albeit some of the vinyl i had from that brand were indeed very bright sounding.
Thanks for tip.
Looking for her albums i'll keep "Come on Come on" on the first line.
Cheers!

Worst sounding MCC album. It is such a shame as her albums are just fantastic.
Stones in the Road is one of my Top Ten albums ever.

I have had that album since it was first released and have always loved it. When you play it all the songs sound like you have heard them before. You know where to come.
Now Chris Jones didn't quite get into him so maybe he needs another listen.
