What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)
Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005
Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.
So, what are you listening to right now?

It is not the best live Jackson I have Steve. The tracks are not all from the same concert they are taken from different dates over a tour and there is fade outs which I hate. But love it nonetheless.
However the disc seems to be very rare and expensive now. I got mine off ebay a couple of months ago for $30. Don't think the seller knew what he had but that's his loss as it now goes for $100 +.
Tracks are:
Doctor My Eyes
My Problem is You
In The Shape of a Heart
Take It Easy
For a Dancer
The Pretender
Runnin on Empty
The Load Out
Stay
Somebaby's Baby
Before the Deluge
ewemon,
Thanks for that.
I have the live stuff on "Running on Empty" and "Solo Acoustic" - how good is that btw?
Do you have some other live stuff?
Steve

A lot. Compared to Solo Acoustic and Running I don't think it is as good.

That's a great record Haim.
Thanks for the other recommendations BTW. Some of which I already have.
Cheers
Mark
Mark,
Let me know if you want more MAs recommend. I have over sixty discs of the label, all of them very good.
I just got Andras Schiff's fifth volume of Beethoven's middle piano sonatas which I enjoy a lot (I don't have any of his other volumes).
Regards,
Haim

Tried that on your regular recommendation, ROTF. Didn't do it for me I'm afraid.
Like this though...

Sorry you didn't like Basia. I have both Kate Walsh albums and really like them, but Basia's album is my album of the year ... I guess musical tastes differ .... Rachel Unthank's album is my other candidate for album of the year, but I play Basia's album more than anything else I've got.
