What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

I see you bought "Chrome Dreams", I listed to the disc in Borders yesterday, not sure myself either. It was OK but maybe needs a few plays?

Revisiting after a few months since the last spin - it really is a beautiful album in places. The lovely 'backing' vocals of Lisa Hannigan sound like no other.

Hopefully now that these two have split Lisa will do some solo work for us to buy...

I recently bought this album on vinyl. The sound quality is terrible, no dynamic range and messy. If you have the CD I hope it's much better.

You are what you is _ Frank Zappa.

This has always been one I've had difficulty with. (It was once on a playlist on my Ipod called "unloved").

After listening to Hot Rats the other day I decided to give it a spin. And while I'd still have to say it's a bit patchy in places I found it an altogether more alluring prospect than hitherto - I must be growing up!
