What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

Mine's HDCD too - not only does the CDX2 indicate it is - it says HDCD on the last inside page of the enclosed booklet that has the words in it. Whatever ... it sounds great to me.

Robert Plant & Alison Krauss: Raising Sand - just played it for the first time. A bit on the slow side initially but I have a feeling it could be a real grower. Fingers crossed anyways!

I only have Axe Victim and Futurama - by Be Bop Deluxe - both on the black stuff. They still sound as good as ever. Not sure I've heard Sunburn Finish.

Yes!

Second cd features live material, when you're in the mood for its awesome. I listen to the second CD more regularly than the first one.

This is my album of the year so far. Unless that is Katie Walsh can top it. It's like The Band meets O Brother Where Art Thou. Not one bad track on it.

Oh shit. Don't do that to me, Right Wing.

I have no vinyl. I have the remastered CD which sounds very good I must say. Is there a better CD version? No. don't tell me......

Steve,

Theres an mfsl cd version, well two actually, they can be had on ebay for anything in between £35-100 sheets, they are rather good, my dad is a huge duane allman fan, his jaw hit the floor when he heard the mfsl version. You can hear quite alot more, just "better", best version out the IMO. - I think Ewemon agrees too. If you're a fan, buy it you wont regret it, do be patient though as some of them are on sale for silly money.
