What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

How bizarre, I've just come home to a vinyl copy of ELO's ANWR which arrived from Mr ebay today and is sat next to the TT waiting for the kids to go to bed.

How did you two get hold of that - an excellent collection of songs and one of the most difficult ELO recordings to get hold of?

Eldorado remains my favourite ELO record though. I think I'll get it out and give it a spin.

Just seen it as 2 for 1 on Amazon with Face The Music another ELO album I was missing - just ordered it.

Meanwhile ..... I've just put the puck down on

which I just noticed is under £4 on Amazon - a bargain or what?

Thanks - I was too quick with ol' finger - when I looked up the cover art for Eldorado, I saw it on the screen staring at me and I couldn't resist. Eek

Very interesting collection of singles and demos that Vashti made between 1964 to 1967, This isn't what I expected - it's more poppy - the title track is Jagger/Richards song for example. The second CD is Vashti + guitar. Worth listening to - most definitely, but if you are hoping this is a lost gem to rival the brilliant Just Another Diamond Day then you may be disappointed.
