What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)
Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005
Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.
So, what are you listening to right now?

Made of Bricks - Kate Nash
Bought on the back of a couple of good reviews. I can safely say that I HATE THIS ALBUM.
Sung in fluent 'SARF LONDON', with the the imaginative use of the English language personified by that term. Tracks include Dickhead & Shit Song, an ideal track for a Shit Album.
On a positive note -- I can turn it off!

Jim,
I assume these are all albums you enjoyed - any chance of a few words - type of music?
I can then decide what to try.
Cheers,

All these albums I enjoy very very much. The type of music I like is Female Vocal (pretty obvious I know), folk/acoustic and country music.
I will try to give some details on the disc I am listening to and kind of music.

Why is there nobody interested interested in Bruce Cockburn?
Superb singer/songwriter, deserves more intention here in the UK.

Steve,
Thats on my one to hear list for Friday.
Munch.
Will do Munch.
It's a good package, although I agree with ewemon that the fade outs are a pain. It's a small price to pay.
I'm interested to know how the version of Running on Empty manages to be better than the version on, errr, Running on Empty. If you get what I mean.
Currently enjoying this........

Ryan
Ryan the album is of a sub genre of Techno called Dub Techno. I feel the name gives it away but if you like dubby sounds in a futuristic light then give it a go. Think of The Blue Room by The Orb for starters but add in loads of echos and reverb.

I saw her on Jools last series. Thought she was a very poor imitation of Lily Allen. You can't win em all

Quality album often on in my house, I should really get round to buying 'Faultlines'. I'm sure ROTF and Munch would agree.
