What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

and that applies to just about every day.
This is the most perfect album I have ever heard and I just can't stop playing it. It makes my other 950 CD's redundant.

Mitsuko Uchida playing late Mozart piano sonatas. Hugely overlooked music from the greatest genius the world has ever known.

Graham, the Philips five CD set of Ms Uchida playing all the sonatas is my most treasured musical possession, I never tire of it. A real bargain too.

Going for a second listen. Really not sure about this one. Some say absolute rubbish and others say absolute genius.....

Graham,

Give it time, I bought it for the tracks that I had already heard. The rest definitely grow on you.

Bonus CD of

(which has a couple of Schumann Romanzen for Klavier and Oboe - excellent)

Will need some more time with the CD. A wide span of musical content, although it's meant to be "concept album". Currently on seconds run.

cheers

Very impressive, several instantly strong tracks while the others soon grow with a couple of listens. For those who fancy something a little different.

Just finished "The Golden Moments" by Caberet Voltaire, much to the confusion of the chap a share an office with.

Just starting "minimum - maximum" disk 2 while I'm in that kind of mood.
