What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

and now a first spin for Overpowered from the lovely Roisin Murphy, who impressed twice on TV last week. I'm so shallow...

Acoustic Alchemy - Positive Thinking. Nice to relax to at this time of night, with a cold glass of white wine as a suitable reward after a hard game of five a side.

Without their leader, Tomasz Stanko, still very good.

Can't decide if I like this yet - odd hearing a man singing Joni's songs. Could be a grower though.

An album of it may, I accept, constitute elevator music... But the quality of the recording and production is SUPERB. Cassandra Wilson and Dianne Reeves kicking off with 'Fragile' is just fab.

Well, first I admitted to liking the new Mark Knopfler (the one where he sounds a bit Roger Whittaker) and now this...

What's happening to me?! Bring on the carpet slippers and pipe (though I s'pose we can't say 'pipe' anymore...?)
