What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

This is good, only listerned to it the once so far, but while pottering about around the house and feeling more than slightly run down and tired. Need to get this out again soon when i've time to sit down in the armchair and soak it up... with glass of red wine in one hand and cat on lap : )

Yes I have the CD but I think it's one where the vinyl may be a lot better. Hold on, no it sounds OK. Smile

Sorry Munch I've just had a "senior" moment. That is the copy I have. I've replaced a few in the last year or so. No wonder it sounds better than I remember. Doh! Roll Eyes

Hindemith viola sonatas on vinyl, a lovely set

Looks interesting Huw.

Did you order this directly from ECM ?

The vinyl is cheaper than the CDs, but I'm tempted to go with the CDs though. Is ECM vinyl good and worth going for ?

Regards
Mark

Some tracks off this album on his MySpace........ Very quiet, low mood, rootsy, man/guitar/mic stuff, sounds like it was recorded about a hundred years ago. Chicago Tribune say he sings like he is on his way to the gallows. Recorded by John Parish (PJ Harvey producer). Fans of Gillian Welch/Johnny Cash/Carter family/Woody Guthrie may approve. Apparently Bono is a fan...................... that's killed it then Winker
