What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

A hefty 180gm slab that was the standard issue. This copy has seen better days unfortunately.

If you're hard enough, try For Philip Guston, a 4-5 hour chamber piece for flute, piccolo, marimba, etc. I'm currently enjoying this version:

Feldman's definitely not for everyone, but if you develop a taste for his soundworld, it's quietly addictive.

droodzila,

Thanks for the recommends. I might try Feldman's solo piano work.

Gian my friend,

I will take your rain gladly. For some silly Middle Eastern reasons I was never able to adjust to the sub zero stuff here.

Buona & frigid sera from Illinois,
