What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)
Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005
Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.
So, what are you listening to right now?

Hi Munch,
It was Wishbone Ash's "Live Dates 2".
A vinyl 2LP that dates from the M. Turner/S. Upton/A. Powell/L. Wisefield line-up.
It has yet to appear on CD for some bizarre reason. You might be lucky with a vinyl copy on e-bay or similar.
Enjoyed Friday, thanks. More damage to the old cc on Amazon.

I have just got a copy of an authorised soundboard recording from their current tour.

The original Live Dates is excellent. It contains mainly tracks from Ash's first three albums:-

Argus is rightly regarded as a classic 70s fayre.

Munch,
More info on Live Dates 2 here.
The track you heard on Friday was "Persephone" which originally featured on "There's the Rub".

Jim,
A real talent - largely unknown. I saw him in concert lst month - one of the best live shows I have seen for a long time.
If you haven;t got his latest release - Masters of Disaster - I would recommend it.
BTW bad result today - we seem to get the worst results against the teams at the bottom or in lower leagues.
Regards
Richard
