What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)
Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005
Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.
So, what are you listening to right now?

"Electrifying" piano playing, but not without his critics. Apparently he is at home with the Liszt Hungarian Rhapsodies as opposed to Chopin. Never heard any of the latter but the Liszt is quite enjoyable.
Yesterday evening getting ready for seeing them live on Saturday

Hi Gary
Yes this is a really good cd. The disc actually came as a freebie in some HiFi Magazine ages ago. It has only 6 tracks though.

On "G"s today...
Infinitely better than what followed it...
Not sure why or how I own this, the only explanation could be that it was part of a job lot I bought a few years ago. Not played it before, probably won't bother again.

Aaaah, that's better. A Cure/Banshees offshoot, whimsical and highly enjoyable

Now that is a very very good record indeed.
Can somebody please tell me who this beautiful looking woman is? Seems that everybody is playing her record, so it must be good?
What sort of music is it?

It's really superb music and she's Basia Bulat from London, Ontario. In her MySpace area she is described as Pop / Folk / Melodramatic Popular Song - click here to hear her.
IMHO, it's as good as any album I have heard for ages.
