What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)
Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005
Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.
So, what are you listening to right now?

Steven Isserlis playing Bach's cello suites - another worthy addition to the already large recorded body of this work

Never gets much of a mention in "best of......" articles but this for me is one of the best from an era where there was a lot else excellent going on.

You look so fine - Garbage
also contains Get Busy With The Fizzy and a remix of You look so fine
I prefer the original version of You look so fine to the re-mix. Get Busy With The Fizzy is a good track.
Garbage were one of the best of the 90s bands IMHO.

Hi Haim,
Hows the snow?
It only seems like yesterday that you were out in the yard clearing the snow .
Another year almost at an end.
God how they go so fast.
I hope its not to cold and you can get into the city ok.
Munch
Munch,
How are you?
Time really moves fast. Two weeks ago I was raking leaves and now I am playing with snow.
Had 4 inches of it yesterday and another 5 inches today. It will remain clear and cold for the next couple of days, and that means more time for music and relaxation in the evenings.
Are you ready for the holidays?
Regards,
Haim

This came through the door yesterday.
Van Morrison.Poetic Champions Compose on vinyl.
I have had it on cd since about 1988.
It my fav Van album of all time.
And i have a few,But i have never heard this on vinyl before and all i can say is if you have a TT get it.
Because its a lot cheaper than trying to get the cd .
CDs of this album go for loads of money.
The thing is the cds are bloody good, but the black stuff has the edge and are a lot less money for a lot more music.
I would like to thank the man who is getting shot of all his vinyl for letting me have this master peace in A1 condition as new for £2.00 plus pp £1.50.
If you like Van Morrison and you have never heard this album, Try it.If you dont like Van Morrison try it.
If you like Fred Simon try it.
Its Freds piano with words and more.

Hi Munch
I have Van Morrison "Poetic Champions Compose" on vinyl as well and can fully recommend it. You don't really see it mentioned on here very often. Another fine album is "Beatiful Vision", in fact just about anything from Van is fantastic.
