What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

God I haven't heard this disc in years will need to give it a listen again.

It still sounds good on the Rega P25, I used to enjoy this on the Garrard Zero 100S/Sinclair P60/Lintons when I first got it.

Thanks - very kind indeed.

I'm going through my PBS albums tonight - Tom Rapp was a great song writer - not keen of Plague Year his come back CD, but his old late 60s and early 70s stuff is sheer class. In 1960, he came second in a New York talent contest - a certain Robert Zimmerman came 6th - I'd really like to hear the guy who won.

Following a conversation with munch, I can recommend 'Book of Secrets' by Loreena McKennitt.

Hi Diccus

I saw them circa 1982 Liverpool University. We used to play this ++++ at the time.

David, Diccus and ewemon,

I once saw Killing Joke play Trafalgar Square at a CND rally of all things. Straight after passionate speeches by Tony Benn (and I think Michael Foot as well) Killing Joke came on and played Wardance. Class act. The rush of punks to the front of the crowd nearly brought the PA towers crashing into the audience.

Munch,

Track listing for Killing Joke album is: Requiem, Wardance, Tomorrow's World, The Wait, Complications, So 36, Primitive. Unfortunately my copy of the album has a massive scratch on side one, but luckily I also have Requiem on 12".

Regards

Nic
