What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

Greg Tannen "Rocket"

Greg's third release. The brother of Steve Tannen, who, with Deb Talen, perform as the Weepies.

I don't recognise the Gregson/Collister. Which is it? and is it any good?

Gary

Gary, its an album called 'mischief' and it has ( i think) several different covers depending on format and year and yes i'm enjoying it. For me the end result of the two artists together is greater than the sum of their individual parts (which are great in themselves).

Gordon, FYI, today was the first time I have ever purchased whole album downloads at cdbaby in vbr mp3 (the Lael, Rachel and Greg discs listed above). I am very pleased.

CDBaby maintains an accoubnt for you where the downloads are always available, but I also transferred the files to iTunes and burned discs for myself.

On my less than megabuck system the possible differences in quality are not worthy of concern. For limited release indie titles, it is a possible alternative for you.

best regards

Three really great albums in stereo stored using 16-bit PCM coding at a sampling rate of 44.1 kHz. They all sound terrific to me.

Very funny Jeff.....the irony shines through. But I can apreciate both sides of the argument.

Anyway, I' mostlh listening to, Imogen heap - Speak for yourself.

A great electronic lp, athough it is more diverse than that. Amazing vocals ad whether you like the music you have to appreciate the vocal ability and range.
