What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)
Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005
Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.
So, what are you listening to right now?

After a very nice Christmas atmosphere at the concert in town, continued with (on vinyl).
Absolutely right Haim, getting out is an important part and I seem to enjoy more what I have at home this way.

D'oh... So, we missed each other, Mark. Was "in town", too, today. Where was the concert ?

Hi Stefan
Only in Griesheim and listening to my Son playing with the rest of the Blasmusikverein
The first Gluhwein of the season as well
It was not cold enough and a bit of the white stuff may have helped.
Cheers

Had it in the car taking me & my Nikon to some snowy scenes.

Haim, had the camera with me, too, but with few results, only. The good news: the itch comes back...

Very good, Stefan. Perhaps a D300 is waiting on the horizon.
Had some problems with the images and spent the last half our with Nikon's Tech Support. Now they are getting my images...
How about some good music you recommend?
Regards,
Haim

Haim, asking about purchases made lately ?
Well, the new EST life in Hamburg isn't bad, also (now on) Dhafer Youssef / Wolfgang Muthspiel gets airtime, then I can't get enough of the Kirchschlager / Bonney album (especially in the train), the new Brozman (on before) is worth a listen, I like Natalie Dessay's Italian Opera Arias, another nice purchase is the Godard/Murgia album "deep" (overtone voice, Sax, Tuba)
Can't wait to get the re-issue of the Trinity Sessions, due to arrive tommorrow...
happy listening, Haim !

Thanks, Stefan, for all the info.
I have an old Dessay doing French operas and I might play it later.
Now Schumann's String Quartet:
