What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

Janos Starker playing Zoltan Kodaly's Sonata for Unaccompained Cello, Op.8 & Duo for Violin and Cello, Op. 7. (with Josef Gingold on the violin).

An over thirty years old magnificent recording, a must for any cello enthusiast.

Haim - my favourite recording of this piece, and you know I have a few.

Hope to be home in a few days when I hope to be able to listen to some music

On someone's recommendation (ROTF I think), I got Uiscedwr 'Circle', togther with the previous album, 'Everywhere'.

They have barely been off the CDP for the last three weeks! And even Mrs JWM has been sneaking them off to the kitchen for a listen there too.

Great music; and I think really well recorded.

Mark,

What do you think of this one?

I am a bit disappointed to be honest. I like the idea, but I am not sure it lives up to all the hype.

I'll give it another try later and see if it grows on me.
